Hours of the event are 5-8 PM at the Douglas County Events Center on the grounds of the Douglas County Fair in Castle Rock. This beautiful in door, air conditioned facility offers the perfect setting for this type of event. It also offers plenty of free parking.
"The Taste" will once again offer food samplings from some of the area’s finest food service establishments. Join the Old Stone Church, Outback Steakhouse, John Holly’s Asian Bistro, Pegasus Restaurant, Black Eyed Pea, Dickey's Barbecue Pit, B & B Cafe, India's Castle, Casa Caliente Mexican Restaurant, Southern Hospitality, Crave Real Burgers, and other area favorites. Over 50 food service establishments, big and small, casual and fine dining, participate.
BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR: See some of the top chefs in the county compete in a cooking competition. There will be a judges award and a people's choice award. Some of the participants will include Jeff Richard from Old Stone Church and Crave, Dan Skay from Manna Restaurant at the Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Mike Hernandez from Blue Nectar Innovative Mexican Grill, Chef Jeff Gebott from Southern Hospitality, and more. Judges last year were Teresa Farney, food editor of the Colorado Springs Gazette, Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock, and Randy Reed, former mayor of Castle Rock.
There will also be a display of the 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycles from Rocky Mountain H-D, and the 2016 Chevrolets from Medved Autoplex.
Many restaurants also give out coupons, and attendees can also spin the prize wheel for restaurant gift certificates throughout the evening. Read More >
